My students work hard in class and when they go out to recess, they need a break. Recess is a time to have fun and socialize with classmates. My grade level has a set of run down play equipment that rotates between the classes. Due to Covid each 3rd grade class is separated into sections at recess and are not allowed to mingle with each other. Each class gets to use the play equipment about once a week. Even though the equipment that rotates is in poor condition from years of use, my students still look forward to their turn. When my students don't have their turn with the equipment, they're usually playing in the dirt or being resourceful by coming up with their own games to pass the time. Play equipment for my classroom would mean so much to my students. Students will have so much fun playing with the various types of sports equipment. Recess can once again be something my students look forward to. The equipment will also be used when I take my class out to PE.
