My project is to help improve our classroom reading and math centers in the first-grade classroom. Each day, my first graders rotate through different learning centers and we are in need of more exciting, fresh items to include! During centers we work on a bunch of skills like ABC order, spelling patterns, writing drafts, syllables, contractions, compound words, and more. I have had the same centers for a few years and the kids need new games/activities to keep center time fresh and exciting. The supplies below will help in their read-to-self center with the new leveled readers, in their word work center with new games to practice reading skills, and in math, groups to practice number sense! We are working on making longer, more difficult words to read more challenging texts. We are also doing lots of fun activities with math including geometry in first grade! All of these items are hands-on, engaging, colorful, and fun! I know my students will love working together with these new supplies.
