Many students with autism have sensory processing differences, which can make traditional classroom settings overwhelming. Providing them access to these items, such as the fidgets and textured objects, have given them the support they need within their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThe implementation of these items has managed students' overstimulation, enabling them to stay focused and on task. They are experiencing less meltdowns, and therefore, complete shutdowns, becoming more peaceful and reducing disruptions to ensure smoother transitions.\r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for the positive changes in our classroom. These materials have proven to be invaluable in creating a supportive learning environment where these students are now thriving.","fullyFundedDate":1733154307776,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-and-motor-activities/8776954/","projectTitle":"Sensory and Motor Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sisco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747451"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_87430","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":360,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":87430,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eliot Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eliot Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/tulsa-public-schools/eliot-elementary-school/87430"}
