I am the music teacher in a school in which many students don't have the opportunity for extracurricular experiences, especially in the arts and music. I am using African American History Month as an opportunity to teach the history of many musical genres. I was able to cost effectively purchase Home Depot buckets for our drumming unit so my students could learn to drum. However, our current keyboards are failing and we desperately need some replacements pianos so students can learn on the real thing! For many students this is their only opportunity to learn piano. I have been so proud of their excitement and engagement but without working keyboards it's nearly impossible to teach!
