Due to the ongoing pandemic and virtual learning, my students are still getting acclimated to working with hands on equipment and working together with other students. This project will help encourage and foster a community of science learners that think critically, use hands-on lab equipment, and learn from each other. This will strengthen and support their social and emotional skills that have been hindered during the pandemic. These students will be able to work with their peers/groups to create and change group or whole class scientific consensus' on chart paper as we investigate phenomena. We are completing numerous hands on labs that require glass beakers for multiple groups of students and providing these for the students will help us accurately complete these labs. I would like to provide my students with a unique experience where students will use headphones with mics for presentation projects and video/audio science journaling. I also want to provide them with a Shure podcast mic where our students can start a weekly based science podcast where they collaborate with their peers to broadcast to our grade level the information they have learned in science class. This project will fund my class room with the ability to engage with their peers in a unique way that will provide them with a concrete learning experience.
