These materials will be an awesome addition to showing my students how different wavelengths can impact the growth and development of plants. I plan for students to create their own investigations on the impacts that different colored lighting will affect the health and growth of their plants. By having multiple light set-ups, my students will be able to work in smaller groups and build more autonomy within their investigation. Unfortunately, the resources will not be able to used at their homes; however, what they take away from their investigations will ideally impact their futures. Plants are a resources that we need to survive. My students come from a more urban area, not so much farming life. While they know that we need plants, I hope these indoor investigations will help foster a love for what they can do at their homes (either now or as adults) in horticulture and/or gardening. There is something pure in growing a plant, and I'm ready to see their excitement as they succeed.
