My students were so happy to see sporting equipment they could use in our music class! Your donation helped us acquire brightly-colored speed ring sets, playground balls, tennis balls, and a 12ft. parachute. They love using the tennis balls and playground balls in partner and circle activities. The speed rings give them a fun physical and rhythmic challenge when hopping through them to their favorite songs. Using the parachute is a real treat, especially for the kindergarten and first graders. Their joyful laughter can be heard down the hall when we use it, especially when we toss tennis balls in the middle. \r\n\r\nThese materials have helped my students bounce and pass balls to the beat to develop rhythmic precision, coordination, and teamwork. We even use them in sorting activities for math. Since the speed rings are the primary colors of blue, yellow and red, we use them when studying the color wheel. My students love thinking of new ways to use their equipment, in addition to singing games, listening activities, dance, and more! \r\n\r\nThank you, again, for your wonderful contribution to our music program. Your materials are truly appreciated, and my students want to say \"Thank you very much!\"","fullyFundedDate":1760693646894,"projectUrl":"project/bouncy-beats-in-music/9607873/","projectTitle":"Bouncy Beats in Music","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4956080_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509912738558","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4956080"},{"teacherId":8826535,"projectId":9466280,"letterContent":"Thank you for the magnaimous donation you made to our classroom. We were able to buy a host of relational books about kindness, compassion, and understanding another person's perspective. We also purchased some manipulatives that accompany The Little Spot emotions books set and The Rainbow Fish. Our gifts have opened the door to heartfelt conversations about our big feelings, otherness, how we can show kindness and why, and ways to solve problems when we don't agree with someone else.\r\n\r\nWe have read each book as a class read-aloud and discuss the characters, how they feel, why they might feel that way, predict what actions or choices may come next, and how problems can be resolved. The books are then put in the class library and are available for free-choice reading time where students choose a book and cuddle up on the carpet and floor pillows/chairs. One of the most beautiful experiences to come out of your donation is to watch the students talk about a book we have read with each other, reading the pictures and retelling the stories, while imagining they are the characters and what they would do. \r\n\r\nBooks about compassion are special because they cross all backgrounds, genders, and academic status. This PreK class has been able to come together in likemindedness because they all have feelings, relationships, and experiences that these books can bridge. We are all so thankful to you for choosing to invest in this youngest generation, believing that we can build the foundation for true compassion.","fullyFundedDate":1755411617918,"projectUrl":"project/changing-the-world-one-act-of-kindness/9466280/","projectTitle":"Changing the World: One Act of Kindness at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCabe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8826535_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714884543373","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8826535"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86976","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":152,"numTeachers":12,"percentFrplEligible":78,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":63,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.1,"schoolId":86976,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pleasant Hill Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pleasant Hill Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/midwest-city-del-city-public-schools/pleasant-hill-elementary-school/86976"}
