Our school has not had a music program in six years. We have started a Student Activities Board to help non-athletic students get involved with creating different events and being responsible for theme days at our school. Student section + drum line = Amazing Friday Nights! The percussion equipment I have chosen for this project will help students grasp the fundamentals of percussion instruments before the next school year. My goal is to have students participate in our drum line, which will be a part of the student section this upcoming year. Many of my students are struggling trying to get caught up to where they should be due to the pandemic. This is taking a toll on their mental health and so many of them feel defeated, even before they get to class. I would like the opportunity to help them gain confidence through music.
