My classroom has a need for a class set of headphones for various student learning activities throughout the day. The students experience diverse learning situations in which they are working independently while their peers are working collaboratively, or working on computer programs in which sound is needed. This classroom set of headphones will be extremely helpful for students who need to work independently while others are in a group setting, or small group with the teacher. Some students might be taking assessments on the computer with sound or needing silence for concentration. These headphones can be used for noise cancelling purposes also. Students who require a quiet environment for maximum learning are surrounded by low grade noise, causing obstructions in their ability to learn. The ability to provide each student with a set of these headphones will not only allow them that necessary quiet environment, but will also give them access to these headphones whenever they finish or are ready to move on to an extra assignment to enhance their learning. These headphones would be implemented on a daily basis. They would be used each year with a new classroom of students. The benefits of each student having their own set of headphones to use whenever necessary will fulfill the different learning styles of each student and aide in success and individual growth in the school year.
