My students need a lot of extra support in math, language arts and fine motor development. Students learn the most through hands-on learning and social interactions. Most of these materials will be utilized for literacy and math centers which encourage both social skills and hands-on learning. Students will be able to work together to practice what they have learned during whole group and small group instruction. My students also need more practice to increase their fine motor skills. I chose several of these items specifically to increase fine motor skills for my students who are still struggling in this area. My students will be so excited to have so many new materials for our centers. Our center rotations are my students favorite part of the day and now they will have new high quality materials to encourage their growth in literacy and math knowledge. For my math centers and small group instruction I have included items that will help my students practice counting, composing and decomposing numbers, find numbers that are one more and one less, create patterns, recognize shapes, and sort objects into sets. For my literacy centers and small group instruction I have included items that will help my students practice letter formation, naming uppercase and lowercase letters, blending letter sounds to decode CVC words, isolating beginning and ending sounds, listening to high quality books, listening to fluent readers, and composing simple sentences. For fine motor and STEAM materials I have included items that will help my students increase their hand eye coordination, problem solving skills, learn about cause and effect, and increase their fine motor skills.
