In today's classroom, students have several academic learning programs on the computer for math, typing, language arts, and more. These programs meet the needs of learners where they are academically, which means students aren't always on the same task within the program. My EL students utilize programs on the computer to help develop and enhance their vocabulary. Students navigate the programs by listening to the instructions and following the steps that often lead to students talking into the computer. With Covid still being prominent, these online curricular programs are utilized at home for distance learning. Headphones are also important for students to use to attend virtual meetings. The majority of students in my class have siblings who are also trying to complete distance learning work at the same time. Headphones would benefit all students with being able to complete their work to the best of their ability. In order for students to utilize these programs in the classroom, headphones are a crucial component to be successful. If every student had access to a pair of headphones, the sky is the limit!
