Many of my students are lagging behind in their recognition of letters and numbers due to long absences because of COVID. I chose items that will focus on building their letter and number knowledge, and the fine motor skills necessary to write the letters and numbers. The more engaging and hands-on an activity is, the faster the student will learn and the better their retention will be. Teaching is about engaging the child's own curiosity and with preschool children, this means engaging their 5 senses. The materials I chose will engage the students' hands, eyes, and brains as they learn not only the names of the letters/numbers, but how to write them as well.
