Students who are personally invested in any given project are more motivated to learn. This project allows students the autonomy to select their designs and develop their visions from start to finish. Once students have a tangible item in their hands, items they have designed and watched as they were 3D printed, their confidence in computer science activities skyrockets and they are invested in a greater level that cannot be achieved with simply learning about computer science from a textbook or watching a one time video. This activity will go a long way in building a strong tech-based future for our children! My students will be engaging in computer science activities to build 3D models, work to convert their content to compatible printing files, and then witness their designs come to fruition with the requested filament. Student engagement is at its highest with such personal investment!
