I am requesting shoes which will help the students walk to school from the nearby housing projects. They will also be used on the court in the after school basketball program. Many of the students only attend sporadically. My hope is that they will buy into the team dynamic and the quest for excellence will carry over into the classroom. I am hoping that they can be transformed into student athletes. Many of the students are low income Micronesians from Polynesia. They are learning English, and come from largely single parent households. Thanks.
