These snacks will allow my students to focus on their learning, instead of on their hunger. At least 80% of my students come from low-income households, and often come to school without eating. Students qualify for free breakfast and lunch, but if students come to school late they miss breakfast. Often times, lunch isn't enough to fill them up. Once they have had something to eat, students are more on task and able to think more clearly. It also helps boost their moods, so the classroom will remain a positive, happy place. Having snacks on hand will give students an opportunity to make up for meals that they have missed.
