My students come from the entire socio-economic range. Most students in my class would not have access to the equipment we use in class if I was not able to provide it. We are a gateway city, and we welcome immigrants and refugees to our school. We strive to meet the needs of all of our students, regardless of background. Without adequate classroom photography equipment, these students wouldn't have access to these tools and therefor miss an opportunity to develop their unique voice in a visual way. All of our students benefit from being able to articulate their dreams, desires and unique perspectives with a visual language such as photography. The requested lenses specifically allow students to use settings that help them isolate their subject and refine their visual communication skills. The Canon lenses also allow students to learn the three fundamental settings in photography that are not available on cameras such as mobile or point and shoot cameras. This gives them a proper experience and a truly adequate start in the photography industry.
