When we read novels in language arts, it can sometimes be a challenge to make sure students can access the novel if they have to be out of class for illness or in the event that the school shifts to online learning. It is typical for upper-level teachers to have classroom sets rather than a 1:1 ratio of novel to student. Digital texts and audio recordings can be a challenge for students without internet or device access, so physical copies of books available for in-class and at-home use are a must for continued access to the course content.
