My class is a group that loves and benefits from collaborative learning. However, due to many COVID-19 protocols, much of my classroom has become devoted to keeping students apart. I'm hoping to change that! These materials will give my students the space, materials, and resources to work together as they learn more about the people and world around them. Comfortable furniture (rather than the floor) and clipboards to write on will increase our productivity and learning. New books in our class library that students have requested and that are geared toward teaching students about other people, places, and things in the world will help us as we learn and improve our reading skills. These things will help my students to become closer as a class and learn valuable social skills like working in a group and having a positive discussion. Books that place an emphasis on empathy and open-mindedness will help them to be come better citizens and friends to those around them.
