Very few of the students I work with have books at home. Rarely do they have a book they can call their own. They do check out books from our school library but the books are kept here at the school due to loss. I even had a student say, "I can't take a book home because I am too afraid it will get lost or ruined." The books that I will give to students will be a reward for hard work. Students will receive a book when they have consistently completed homework reading activities.
