For the graphic novels and chapters books, I picked specific books that are on my students reading levels and about topics that they enjoy. For a lot of my students, reading has been a struggle for them. They don't enjoy it, they think it's boring, thus they don't like to read. But I have found with my fourth graders, that they adore graphic novels. They will be reading their books without me even asking them to read their book. Our school's library is always checked out of graphic novels, therefore none of my students ever find books that they enjoy. I think as a teacher, I focus more on building my students love of reading and then expounding their reading collection. With the graphic novels, they are able to use them for our book reports and for our assigned reading at home. A lot of my students are lower income and don't have books at home, but now they will be able to borrow my books at home. For the stools, I have quiet a few students that love to wander around the classroom during lessons, they have extra energy that they need to get out of their system. But with them wandering around, they aren't always paying attention to the lesson. With the wobble stools, they are able to move all around in their chair as they want but still be able to sit in their seat and participate in the lesson.
