There are a few reasons why an Ipad and Apple Pencil would greatly benefit my students. One thing I hate doing as a teacher is sitting at my desk. I remember great teachers growing up were always up and about giving students one-on- one time when needed. Unfortunately, I also remember a few not-so-good teachers who seemed to always be sitting at their desk; I strive to be the former. An Ipad would allow me the flexibility of moving around, editing, annotating, and taking notes in real time for my students to see on the board. I would also be able to play review games like Kahoot and Quizizz without being tied to my desk, allowing me more opportunities to engage with the students. Additionally, our school and district is currently teaching face-to-face, but that doesn't mean the effects of COVID aren't present. I've never before seen so many of my students absent, all emailing me how to stay caught up. Within the last couple weeks I've had a record number of students absent from my classes. I need more ways to keep them caught up, and I believe videos are the best way to do that. An Ipad and Apple Pencil would allow me to create better quality review videos than what I can currently do on my MacBook. Videos that are more engaging and fun that will allow me to connect better with students, while giving them the instruction and/or remediation that they need.
