It is no secret that children love books. Books are such a powerful tool to help them learn so many things. And they become even more powerful for children learning a foreign language. Illustrations and photos help students learn new vocabulary and get familiar with words in any topics. A French Library in my classroom would be so beneficial for many reasons. First of all, they are great for students who finish their assigned work early. They just grab a book and continue to learn and be immersed in the target language. I can also use the books to teach students to make book reports. They can learn to recognize the main ideas, to write a summary, to explain what they learned, what they liked, etc. And all that in the target language!
