Passionate about promoting literacy, I am working to build a large classroom library stocked with a wide assortment of diverse and high-interest books. My students come in all shapes and sizes with a variety of interests, reading levels, and backgrounds. My hope is that with a the selection available to them in our classroom library, students can find books that are "just the right fit" for them... and easily take them home during this pandemic! The more access students have to books presents more opportunities to spark a love for reading and ultimately learning. I want to give my students every opportunity to be successful in my classroom, and ultimately help as many of them become college-bound especially after the impact of COVID upon our learning. Through student-driven projects, thought-provoking discussions, and close reading of our classroom library books, my students will become life-long readers and prepare for college by reading in variety and volume.
