Often, fourth and fifth graders begin to lose interest in reading. Between friendships and new opportunities for sports, reading loses some of its appeal. I am passionate about inspiring passionate readers! It is my goal to update and furnish my classroom library. I have been blessed with some donations of very used books, but my goal is to also provide new/recently published books that students want to read! I strive for fresh variety, relevant material and exciting stories. Students read these books at home, on their bus rides and in their classrooms. In addition to books they want to read, I want to provide a space that they cannot wait to visit to read those books! As a first year teacher, I am only beginning to furnish my classroom. My goal is to have additional seating so that students may sit, read and "talk books" together in a space that is all theirs.
