Students come to school carrying many burdens, emotional and physical. Music is a way to help students relax and reset their minds, helping them prepare for a day of learning. We want students who enter the school to feel welcome, and excited to be here! With the help of a bluetooth speaker, our students can experience and share music in many different styles, genres, and languages. A bluetooth speaker will allow me and my team to bring music into the hallways in the morning time, and in my classroom throughout the day. Music helps us connect to one another. It is an opportunity to learn about how students are feeling, as they often express themselves more through music and dance than they might through conversation. Music can also be used throughout the day in the classroom. Classical music and nature sounds have been shown to improve concentration, lessen classroom disruptions, and help ease anxiety. It is an excellent classroom management tool that improves the overall environment of the classroom. Working in a math classroom, stress and anxiety are a constant battle; any resource that can help lower that stress is so valuable for our students! This is why a Bluetooth speaker would be such a valuable addition to my school and to my own classroom.
