Small donation go a long way in the classroom. Our makerspace, magnetic wall, and library are in need of an update! At Van Ness we believe in the whole child model and know that social emotional learning is key to successful academic gains. Building empathic lifelong learners are what my PreK classroom is all about. Having books that display empathy, change, and diversity help support that mission. Learning through play and hands-on makerspace projects are essential in all ECE classrooms. Adding counting and writing manipulatives to our magnet wall/makerspace help push students critical thinking, and gross-motor tinkering skills. This foster the space for students to get creative, when approaching challenges and helps to develop persistent learners. All while they play and learn to love learning.
