The materials and pieces of equipment that I am requesting will benefit my students as they continue to improve their strength, coordination, balance, posture, spatial awareness, and overall safety at school. Having a visually pleasing target such as a magnetic dart board, Velcro turtle board, and basketball net are more than just decorative. They are extremely beneficial for my students who require additional visual cues so that they can focus on their task at hand. Having different balance equipment such as the pads and sliders will help students learn to use additional sensory functions, including proprioceptors, vision, and their vestibular system. The games and small pieces of equipment will be used for multiple different purposes, including obstacle courses, games, and specific mobility tasks. Each of these translate to a bigger function that is vital for our students' safe and efficient accessibility to the school environment and participation in the school curriculum as a whole. These items will help my students work towards their physical therapy goals in a creative, fun, safe, and effective way!
