My students are a remarkable group of 10th, 11th & 12th graders at an inner-city school in Washington DC. My school caters to students from all over our Nation's Capital. Learners in my class come from a variety of backgrounds; many of them are bilingual. Often times it is the students who are teaching me. This helps make going into school everyday a joy. Despite the minority and low-income status of the majority of our students, our school is dedicated to preparing ALL of our students to go to college. Many of my students are learning English as a second language and most need hands on experience with the content in order to be ready to take on college level work.
