The materials will help me teach standards that relate to graphing and visual representations. Rulers, patty paper , graph paper, geometric shapes and compasses are all standard Geometry tools. The students will be using these materials and more while they demonstrate their knowledge of various geometric concepts. Some of the Nevada Academic Content Standards I will use are HSG-CO.A.3, HSG-CO.A.5, HSG-SRT.A.2, and HSG-C.A.3. An example in words would be the construction of inscribed and circumscribed circles of a triangle. To achieve this standard you would use a compass, graph paper, rulers, and other math tools. These standards are hands on and the proper teaching of these standards were lost during the pandemic. My students need to do basic constructions, with math tools not computers. My students need to do the hands on activities like mapping out congruence transformations such as reflections, translations and rotations. In these exercises students trace a pathway of motion. Having all the tools and materials makes teaching and learning fun.
