After a year and a half of distance learning, this project aims to bring hands-on learning back to the students. We are going to be implementing more computer-based learning for our mathematics courses. As for the instructional activities, we conducted many labs and hands-on activities that the students found fascinating and really helped them understand the key concepts, but I felt that the reading strategies were lacking. Many times, the students were asked to read an informational book and then write their questions as they read in a notebook. This was not very engaging and the students would instead rely on their groupmates to fill out their notebooks. The notebook they had was part of the curriculum and it was very dry when it came to the readings, but other than that, it was very useful for when they were writing down observations, making models, problem-solving, and conducting experiments. With the chromebooks and the ability to use media we have more source material to utilize.
