Many undesired events occur among our students during P.E. (physical altercations, verbal conflicts, feelings of failure/insufficiency, poor self-esteem, misplaced feelings of superiority) They are not well versed in destressing and conflict resolution without guidance and modeling of desired behaviors. Often they are sent to me to assist in deescalating situations which results in teaching them how to clean themselves up, calm down and reassess the situation. Having the stargazers (projectors) with white noise and dial soap are essential tools necessary to assist our students with these calming techniques. I am asking for the indicated quantity so that the counselor, nurse and resource teachers may assist in promoting this concept throughout the school.
