Learning mindfulness in a global pandemic. The social and emotional component to education is so important, especially during the recent pandemic. What better way to support scholars during this time than to offer this level of support, for free. Our students at HMS will be able to adopt deep breathing techniques, positive decision making, beginners yoga and overall wellness. Students at Harney Middle School will be able to learn how to use mindfulness in the classroom and outside the classroom. The materials such as yoga mats, journals, mindfulness games and sensory objects are essential for this project to be successful. This project will make a difference in our students learning by teaching them how to use health coping techniques during times of high stress. For them to have a quiet, comfortable, safe place to unwind and be themselves is important and exactly what this project is about.
