As a school counselor, I help students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Now more than ever, we have seen behaviors increase in the classroom, so creating a space for students to calm down and reset is one of the most important jobs I do. The games and books I chose will be perfect to create connections and allow kids to open up and talk about their issues. Teaching yoga and mindfulness will benefit all of our students as I help them focus on strategies to stay calm. As a new counselor I'm still learning too, so following the ASCA best practices allow me to create a program that aligns with the American School Counseling Association guidelines and best practices.
