My project is procuring several books that my students can take home that they can read with their families. It is very difficult to find books for beginning readers in our school library. So this project will make a great impact in building a love for reading with my first grade students. I am also asking for school supplies that are needed to support their learning needs. After having kindergarten in distance learning, they are so excited to be back in the classroom with hands-on materials and working with their peers. This project supports the following standards: Key Ideas and Details: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.2 Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.3 Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.
