During our time away, a lot of these students didn't have access to hands-on learning, so I would like to remedy that. Children need books in their hands, math manipulatives to explore, and educational games for engagement. These items will help our students have a better understanding of reading, writing, science and math. One of the best ways for students to learn is by doing. Hands on learning helps elevate ALL learners. With hands-on learning students have the benefits of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning. The Pop Its, Cuisenaire Rods, whiteboards, Wrap-Ups, and math games will help students think outside the box and practice math in engaging ways. This year for the first time, I have a much wider range of abilities, so these books, ELA games, and writing tools will allow me to reach the different ability levels in my classroom.
