The Orff instruments used in the Music Department have been used for almost twenty years. While the instruments are surviving surprisingly well, many of our yarn and felt mallets are showing extreme wear. Unfortunately, the limited funds I receive have not found replacing them possible. Through this project, I would like to create a unique atmosphere of excitement with the use of blacklight, the effects to be used to capitalize on the students inquisitive nature and their sense of wonder. The Art Department may benefit from this funding, being included in the use of the blacklight to present special art projects at our end of the year, Music and Arts Festival. This would be a huge lift to the our students in an area that has never received enough funding for adding this vital equipment. Thank you for your time and any assistance in providing the necessary funding to make this project a reality.
