My classroom is a special education classroom with students who are severely impacted by certain conditions that impede there ability for mainstream independent classroom function. As a result they need to be engaged at different levels and with different methods. My students will have an academic component to their day in school but they need to be engaged in an alternative style as their endurance wanes throughout the course of their learning. Sensory helps this as they find balance, place, learn to communicate and maintain and even increase social and emotional skills. Help me give my students skills that would benefit their social and emotional learning in the classroom and other settings using a sensory table and sensory items help with balance, creativity and helps them relax.
