My 4th graders haven't been physically IN school for over a year. They aren't used to having a six hour schedule, let alone a lunch late in the afternoon. We have staggered lunches for Covid safety and my kids have a hard time focusing until then when their stomachs are grumbling. I have been spending my own money on snacks for my entire class for the last month. Some parents have donated snacks to the cause, but they are only going to last one or two days. I understand that not all families have the means to donate, but I can't ask one or two families to provide snack for my students for the year. We are a Title I school, but unfortunately we aren't getting the Fruit and Vegetable Grant assistance we had in the past. There is also a shortage of food nationwide due to the pandemic, so even lunches are limited to one food choice per child. Anything you are able to donate will be truly appreciated! Thank you, thank you!!
