The resources I am requesting will help students to become more socially involved in school and after school programs. The last 18 months have not allowed students to be involved in after school activities like the chess club. Over the course of a chess club tournament season, we play 10 matches against other high schools. The students are typically at school for 2-3 hours after school playing the matches and traveling back and forth to the matches. They get hungry and lose focus during their matches. Our chess club has grown from 5-7 players Pre-Covid to over 20 players showing up each week now. Students are desperately in need of more socialization.
