My project is about targeting Social Studies and Science with an integration of reading and writing. I want my students to be able to learn about the world in a fun way by using art projects and creating an activity book every time we start a new lesson. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve reading and writing skills, increase student knowledge about the world, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and families will be impacted because the students will be sharing the work with them. I will target the following standards and skills with my students; SS.K. 16 Describe how people work to improve their communities __ Identifying different community helpers in a community. __Understand how community helpers help to improve their communities. SS.K.12 __Students will locate holidays and events on the calendar. K-2-ETS1-1 Ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool. __ Students know how to gather information to identify a simple problem. __ Students know that some problems can be solved through new solutions. RF.K.4 Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding. Read emergent text orally and tell or explain the text to a partner using appropriate key details. The materials requested will help my students to be engage and apply the new concepts that they will be learning. The materials will help increase the students academic achievement. With the books the students will increase their reading comprehension and will become better writer's.
