Many of my students are coming from homes where they did not get to do a lot of "kid" activities and games where they learn patience, turn-taking, cooperation or to build their fine motor skills. They love to play with the Play-Doh but do not realize that they are learning and building their fine motor skills. They also have a high need for fidget activities to help them focus. The headphones are needed because they have a hard time focusing when they are on the computer and when they are working somewhere else because someone else is on it and they can hear it. I added some different kinds of paper and pencils because they are always in need when you are working with children that come with very little experience and need to do things over and over again. Many of the resources that were chosen for this project are going to build a bridge and fill the gap that many of my students have due to a lack of resources, learning experiences and time spent together during the pandemic. ELA RF.K.1d - Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. ELA RF.K.1b - Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters. SS.K.1 - With prompting and support, generate compelling questions to explore how learning and working together builds a classroom community.
