The items in my cart were all chosen for a reason. I chose the books with the social emotional theme for children in my class who have been directly effected by the Covid crisis. Their emotions are all over the place this year and those books coupled with the hands-on retell activities will provide specific support for their needs. The math manipulatives I've chosen will support my student in reaching their potential on Nevada Academic Content Standards. 1.0A.A-1 in Math will all aid in the Number and Operation in Base Ten demonstration for the children. I never have enough for everyone and now I will! The lessons will be more effective because the students can hold and feel the blocks, instead of watching me use them because we will have enough for everyone. The engineering and STEAM products will give students a chance to build houses, test theories and practice the scientific process. If children learn concepts through play that have a greater chance of remembering what they learned and they also need less interactions to learn the skill. Thank you for reading and helping our amazing first grade class!
