As a music educator I believe everyone should have access to quality music education. In my classroom, everyone gets a chance to learn and perform from a variety of string instruments. As a Title I school in a diverse socioeconomic city, I see hundreds of young adults from many walks of life. I believe receiving the least experienced student is just as important as finding the ultra talented. Anyone can learn an instrument! However, beyond the pedagogy lies a deeper connection: community. Sometimes a student joins the program not necessarily with the intention of focusing all of their effort on learning to play the violin, but simply to find solace with friends. I aim to provide the best quality education AND a place for anyone to feel seen and heard.
