I am the Media Specialist, who services the entire school building of mainly 9-10th, but also 11th-12th graders. I have multiple areas I covers besides checking out books and encouraging a love of reading. I engage students with many STEM projects. For instance, we have a makerbot, e-color poster maker and a new glowforge machine that engraves and turns metals, cardboard or wood into artifacts, that the kids can see first hand. The students will get to do hands on work with the glowforge, but will need individual protective glasses when engaging with the machine. I will need extensive cleaning supplies to keep up with the flow of students and the touching of books, machines, tables etc. I want our Media Center to stay open, since we were limited, for so long, because of Covid. The Media Center is where the kids come to feel safe and relax with a book or do research. One of my favorite quotes says it all "Cutting libraries during a recession is like cutting hospitals during a plague."– Eleanor Crumblehulme I hope you will help me keep our kids safe and allow our Media Center to continue it's purpose of educating our kids.
