My students learn about healthy living in 8th grade. We currently do not have PE supplies and state budget cuts due to Covid have left us with no money to obtain these supplies. Engaging students in physical education is an excellent way to get them outside and moving in fun and exciting ways. Many of my students do not go outside when they are at home. Many of them spend their days playing video games or watching tv. Covid has exacerbated this problem tremendously. Since the lockdowns, students are far less inclined to go to the park or the beach with their friends. The large number of supplies will support student safety by helping to reduce the number of students touching an individual ball. The sports equipment will allow me to reintroduce sports and the important role they play in living healthy lifestyles. It is my deep desire to remind my students that they can have fun while being active outside.
