Every day the students work to earn stars for following directions, having safe hands and feet, completing their work and being kind to others. At the end of their day, students count their stars to earn preferred breaks, snacks, toys or sensory items. The students are motivated to work for these items, which allows them to take responsibility for their actions and behavior and promote the continued use of positive behaviors. The students love a good snack at the end of their day, playing with playdough or using sensory toys as a way reward themselves after a job well done! Students learn very quickly the value of things they are willing to work for and quickly can change challenging behaviors into productive, pro-social behaviors with the simple things that they find enjoyable! After all, who doesn't love a cookie at the end of a day?
