Due to tight funding, it has been hard to keep our school library updated. Our students love reading and checking out books to take home and read with their families. However, many of our books are getting worn out and we want to add new and more relevant titles to our collection. As teachers, we want to provide books that reflect the diverse population of our students. When they come into the library we want them to see themselves in the titles available for checkout—this increases engagement and excitement about reading. As a staff we worked together to research titles that we are excited about purchasing for our students that are up-to-date and meet these criteria.

About my class
