COVID has severely limited the ability of community volunteers to help maintain our campus garden. With the purchase of a rechargeable mower and trimmer, I will be better able to maintain our campus garden and will have on site tool availability for our cleared campus volunteers. Currently, our students must use hand tools to maintain pathways between our nine raised garden beds. The use of the mower and trimmer will give students much more hands on time planting, harvesting, and learning about urban agriculture- without trading their physical energy for their mental endurance.
