This book will help create the print-rich classroom environment that my students need. Last year my students experienced a year like no other. Virtual learning was extremely challenging for my students for many reasons, but they still showed up every day. We experienced the struggles of virtual learning, hybrid learning, and full-in-person learning with many obstacles. The book The House on Mango Street will give my students the opportunity to learn about and make connections to characters with diverse backgrounds. This book will also help my students engage in discussions about different cultures, empathy, and social issues.
