Each student will benefit from meeting with the counselor during classroom guidance lessons where social-emotional learning books are a shared experience between the counselor and students. Students may also meet with the counselor individually or in a small group to work through difficult emotional issues and could benefit from expressing themselves through a creative outlet, such as dramatic play or art. Our students will greatly benefit from the "tool kits" to help them learn to understand and express their feelings in healthy ways. As educators and supporters of all children, we understand and know the importance of helping children address issues that happen outside of the school building, as well as inside. Each and every student deserves a warm, safe space to process through difficult emotions and with these supplies, students will have greater opportunities to learn about feelings and appropriate ways to cope with any obstacles that may cause distress.
